Are public holidays and bank holidays the same?
Sometimes, but the terms depend on the country. A bank holiday may close banks and public offices while employment rules can vary.
What does “observed” mean?
When a holiday falls on a weekend, a law or local rule may move the day off to a nearby weekday. That replacement date is the observed day.
Can dates differ inside one country?
